Registered Nurse - L&D/Postpartum
Schedule
Nights 7 PM - 7 AM, Every 3rd Weekend, On-Call (must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in this position is a professional caregiver responsible for planning, providing, and directing patient care and education. The RN utilizes the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders while acting as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, ensuring safety and educational needs are met.
- Establish a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data and communicate this plan with all involved disciplines.
- Implement and evaluate the plan of care, modifying as necessary based on patient status reassessment.
- Complete all documentation according to established standards, utilizing appropriate documentation tools.
- Assess patient readiness for learning and implement individualized education plans based on identified needs.
- Participate in nursing department initiatives and contribute to health center and departmental committees.
- Provide age-appropriate care to the specific population served, in alignment with organizational standards.
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- At least 3 years of experience in OB, L&D, and/or Postpartum nursing.
- Current unencumbered RN license in Ohio.
- BLS certification (Required).
- NRP certification (Required).
- STABLE certification (Required).
