Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, the therapist ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities. The role includes serving as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals to progress patients towards discharge.
- Document medical records clearly, accurately, and timely, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Participate in student programs, providing supervision and a positive learning environment.
- Maintain an individualized professional development plan and actively pursue continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintain licensure in good standing.
- Engage in organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure as required for practice.
