Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Microbiology and Chemistry Expertise

This position requires a mid shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with strong experience in Microbiology and Chemistry. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with positive blood cultures and spinal fluid gram stains, with molecular testing experience being a plus. Familiarity with Roche Chemistry analyzers or middleware is also beneficial. Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS), particularly Soft and SoftMIC, will make a candidate stand out.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze tests in Microbiology and Chemistry.
• Handle positive blood culture and spinal fluid gram stains with expertise.
• Conduct molecular testing as needed.
• Utilize Roche Chemistry analyzers or middleware efficiently.
• Manage and navigate laboratory information systems, specifically Soft and SoftMIC.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MLS.
• ASCP certification is required.
• BLS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
