Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift, requiring availability for 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00. Weekend coverage is mandatory.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the night shift. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit and be prepared to support a diverse patient population, including those with respiratory failure, A-Fib with RVR, and sepsis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in a stepdown unit, managing care for individuals with complex medical conditions.
• Provide skilled nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapy, and telemetry monitoring.
• Implement and manage care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, treatment options, and health management.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current valid RN license in Oklahoma or Compact State.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be in hand at time of submittal.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a stepdown, telemetry, or similar nursing role is required.
• Preferred experience with community hospital and long-term acute care settings.

Patient Ratios

Maintain a patient ratio of 4 patients per nurse during day and night shifts.
