Job Description

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care to patients under the age of 19, addressing urgent and emergent health issues in a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center. Our unit is equipped with 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a shared 7-bed trauma bay with the adult ED. Our staff is trained to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing a broad spectrum of cases from treat-and-release to acute critical care and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Perform assessments, interventions, and evaluations for pediatric patients.
• Maintain clear communication with patients and their families regarding care plans.
• Handle trauma situations and critical care needs as they arise.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York RN License (Required)
• 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience (Required)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (Required)
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association (Required)
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (Required)
• Burn care experience (Highly desirable)
• TNCC, ATCN, or ABLS certification (Preferred)
