Registered Nurse - Pediatric Cardiac Care

Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM

Job Description

We are seeking two experienced Registered Nurses to join our Pediatric Cardiac Care team. The ideal candidates will have a competency in caring for pediatric cardiac patients, with specific experience in managing chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. This role involves providing routine and complex nursing care in a critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Pediatric Cardiac or Critical Care preferred; new graduates considered.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only).
• Active RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
