This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are scheduled for five days a week, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including two weekend days per month.

Job Description

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is an integral member of the physical therapy team, assisting the Physical Therapist in delivering patient treatments and managing referred patients. The role involves providing documentation of treatment and outcomes, participating in discharge planning, and educating patients and their families or caregivers. Additionally, the PTA will engage in administrative duties and quality improvement initiatives while pursuing professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering treatments to patients.
• Document treatment processes and outcomes effectively.
• Participate in discharge planning for patients.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care practices.
• Oversee administrative duties as assigned.
• Engage in professional development and continuous learning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid AZ license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• BLS certification required.
• 2+ years of experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
• Experience with hospital medical records and the acuity of hospital PT care is essential.
