FT Night Nurse Supervisor/Clinical Leader

This position involves working 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including every other weekend and holidays.

Job Description

The Night Nurse Supervisor/Clinical Leader is responsible for providing clinical leadership and coordination of nursing activities throughout the acute care setting during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This role involves supporting and guiding nursing staff in planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates clinical activities across the unit, ensuring effective staffing based on patient acuities.
  • Provides consultation and clinical leadership to nursing staff to promote integration and consistency of patient care.
  • Supports nurses in managing emergency clinical and administrative situations.
  • Facilitates competency assessments and staff development on shifts and weekends.
  • Collaborates with nurse managers and clinical leaders to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Engages in problem-solving activities and contributes to nursing leadership committees.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing staff and stakeholders to promote positive patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • NYS RN Licensure
  • 3 years of Acute Care experience as a Registered Nurse
  • 1 year of Critical Care experience, preferably in the Emergency Department
  • 1 year of Leadership experience at the Charge Nurse level
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certification within 90 days of hire
