Registered Nurse - Long-Term Care (Full Time Evenings)

This position requires full-time evening shifts from 3pm to 11:30pm, with every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing in Long-Term Care (LTC), the Registered Nurse oversees the operation of the nursing units and provides clinical supervision to the nursing staff. The nurse is responsible for ensuring quality resident care through effective teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts. This role involves communicating with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager about identified and potential unit issues and collaborating to resolve problems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of the Nursing Department in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Provide clinical supervision to the nursing staff on shift.
• Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC.
• Communicate critical issues to the Director of Nursing after hours as necessary.
• Teach and supervise staff to ensure quality resident care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State Registered Nurse Licensure (NYS RN Licensure) is required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of long-term care (LTC) experience.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• BLS Certification through AHA or RQI only.
