X-Ray Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Mon - Thurs 10p-7:30a. Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts, with 2-3 call shifts per month.

Job Description

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for verifying patients' identities, reviewing physician orders prior to procedures, and utilizing x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of patients' anatomical structures as per physician directives. This role includes educating patients about x-ray procedures and addressing their inquiries, as well as appropriately positioning patients, which may involve assisting those with limited mobility. The technologist will ensure safe handling of radiologic equipment and maintain low radiation exposure for patients.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identities and review physician orders before procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Position patients correctly for imaging.
• Ensure safe and proper handling of radiologic equipment.
• Produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Notify management of any equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assure proper image identification.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certification required.
• New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• Two years of X-Ray Technologist experience required, including Level 1 trauma center experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Recent experience using c-arm/o-arm in the last 8 months.
