Outpatient Physical Therapist
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
5x8 shifts, with evaluations lasting 60 minutes and follow-ups every 30 minutes.
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans based on the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role involves delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs for effective community reintegration. Educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself is also a core component of this position. The therapist is expected to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the organization's mission and core values while maintaining compliance with the organizational code of conduct, particularly regarding patient confidentiality and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and utilize clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals.
- Complete medical record documentation accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and policies.
- Participate in student programs, providing supervision and evaluations as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and apply learned information to enhance organizational objectives.
- Adhere to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and other regulatory agency requirements, maintaining professional licensure.
- Understand and participate in the organization’s performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for physical therapy.
- Previous assignments with the agency are highly desired.
