Job Description

This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit and will occasionally FLOAT to the Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, or Pediatrics in case of low census. The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care to critically ill patients and perform a variety of responsible nursing procedures requiring professional knowledge and ability to work independently in completing assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care and support in the ICU to patients of all ages and their families.
• Perform nursing care procedures based on doctors' orders and standards of care.
• Recover post-op patients from general surgery, pediatric, and OB procedures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Must have and maintain a current valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN).
• Must maintain current valid certification of the following throughout employment:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
