Job Description
This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum care, as well as providing lactation education and assistance. The role includes delivering family-centered care that encompasses the well newborn and Level 2 Nursery. The Registered Nurse will ensure expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families while collaborating with providers, staff, and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Triage incoming patient requests for services efficiently.
- Deliver patient education to facilitate care plans and promote wellness.
- Delegate care appropriately according to Colorado statutes.
- Demonstrate competent assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.
- Manage high phone volumes for patient requests concerning medications and assistance.
- Administer medications and perform treatments while adhering to patient safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient care with other physician practices and healthcare providers.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while delivering excellent service.
- Utilize Relationship-Based Care principles to advocate for patient safety and preferences.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- One year of clinical nursing experience is required.
- Minimum of an Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after July 1, 2018.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
