Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical assessments and interventions for patients within the PCU.
• Administer medication and monitor patient responses, including cardiac drips and insulin drips.
• Troubleshoot medical equipment such as bipaps and wound vacs.
• Engage in hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and staff, maintaining updated communication boards.
• Provide care for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertions.
• Assist with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tube insertions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license with ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with EKG rhythm interpretation and peripheral IV skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PCU or similar setting.
• Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis, stroke, and post-cardiac cath care preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and teamwork abilities.
