Operating Room Surgical Technician

Schedule

12-hour rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights. Can also accommodate 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in the care of a diverse range of patients. This position encompasses various surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, within a Level 1 trauma center. The OR is well-equipped, featuring two Da Vinci robots utilized by multiple surgical services. Special focus also includes participation in a transplant program involving liver, kidney, and heart surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams as needed in various specialties.
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure a high standard of patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a surgical setting.
• Operating room experience in a Level 1 trauma center is highly desired.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Ability to scrub in and assist during surgical procedures.
