Job Description

The Sonography Department provides high-quality ultrasound imaging services focused on general and specialized vascular studies. Sonographers are expected to have strong skills in performing a range of vascular ultrasound studies and to have experience in interventional radiology (IR) preferred. The department operates within an IAC-accredited Non-Invasive Vascular Lab, requiring sonographers to maintain advanced knowledge and proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular ultrasound studies including, but not limited to:
• Upper and lower extremity venous duplex studies
• Upper and lower extremity arterial duplex studies
• Carotid duplex studies
• Bypass graft studies
• Mesenteric artery duplex studies
• Renal artery duplex studies
• Upper and lower extremity vein mapping duplex studies
• Fistula flow studies
• Venous reflux studies
• Participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring 24/7 coverage for the department.
• Occasionally provide services at various Bassett locations, including hospital sites, outpatient clinics, and outreach centers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Demonstrated independent proficiency in performing all vascular ultrasound studies as listed above.
• Preferred certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
• Ability to align with the standards of an IAC-accredited vascular lab.
