Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining treatment purposes and procedures, and providing necessary education upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placements.
• Perform tracheostomy care and arterial punctures following established policies.
• Document and report treatment results accurately in patient records.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient therapy efficiency.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
