Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This is a 13-week contract position.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance to staff and patients.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested after orientation.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Night shift, 3x12.0.
