Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring effective return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while upholding compliance with organizational standards and promoting safety within the work environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Document patient care in a clear, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Provide therapy services under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
- Participate in student programs, providing positive learning experiences and supervision.
- Develop an individualized professional development plan and pursue continuing education opportunities.
- Maintain professional licensure and adherence to the discipline-specific State Practice Act.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for the location of work.
- Previous experience with the agency is highly desired.
