Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes oversight and delegation of therapy services while ensuring the effective design of functional treatment programs that help patients return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and coworkers, while also adhering to professional standards and compliance expectations.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans focused on patient discharge within established timeframes.
- Document patient care clearly, accurately, and timely.
- Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and compliant with insurance guidelines.
- Participate in student program assignments and provide a supportive learning environment.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education activities.
- Adhere to regulatory agency standards and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Understand and participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Active and applicable state physical therapy license.
Schedule
This is a 5x8.0 shift schedule.
