Surgical Technologist - Open Heart

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position, requiring alternating days off with a schedule of 3x12 hours (06:00 - 18:30). Candidates must be available for 1-2 call days per week with a 30-minute response required, and every 3rd or 4th weekend from Friday 4:30 PM until Monday 6:00 AM, and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will assist in open heart procedures and be responsible for scrubbing during surgeries. Working in a tobacco and fragrance-free facility, candidates may care for COVID patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during open heart surgeries.
• Assist the surgical team with instrumentation and patient care.
• Adhere to facility protocols and guidelines for procedures.
• Participate in case discussions and provide input to improve patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CVOR.
• Current certification in Surgical Technology (NBSTSA required).
• Experience with EPIC charting system is heavily preferred.
• AHA or ARC certification required for basic life support.
