Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Stroke Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Job Description

Join our high-acuity cardiac and stroke unit, where you will provide critical care to patients undergoing pre and post cardiac procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing cardiac drips and telemetry for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, including but not limited to unstable angina, CHF, and post-stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for up to 6 patients per shift, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
• Monitor telemetry and administer cardiac medications as per treatment protocols.
• Perform assessments and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar high-acuity setting.
• Current RN license (NC or Compact license).
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Telemetry and cardiac drip management experience is essential.
• Must have the ability to float to the adjacent units as needed.
