Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Part-Time, Days and Evenings
Schedule
This is a part-time position with rotating shifts including days and evenings, scheduled as needed (5x7.5 hours). Weekend and holiday shifts are required (3x7 hours).
Job Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing high-quality care to residents, ensuring that their activities of daily living (ADLs) are met in a safe and comfortable environment. The CNA will work closely with nursing staff to uphold resident care plans and maintain safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Meet residents' ADL needs, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and more, while documenting care provided.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents by answering call lights promptly, ensuring the use of safety equipment, and monitoring for potential fall risks.
- Support residents' nutritional needs by assisting with meals, addressing preferences, and providing feeding or nourishments as necessary.
- Assist with rehabilitative needs through exercises and mobility support as outlined in the care plan.
- Report resident concerns, rights, and status changes to the supervising nurse promptly and accurately.
- Comply with safety and health protocols, including exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- New York State Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or RQI only).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting is required.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
