Mammography Technologist

This is a full-time position with 5 shifts per week / 8-hour Days.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist performs medical mammograms to diagnose disease or trauma. This role includes programming the machine for accurate density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. The technologist is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and operating mammography equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. The technologist will also perform and document all QA/QC tests as required by MQSA. Additionally, this position requires working on a Mobile Mammography Van, which may involve weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical mammograms to assist in diagnosis.
• Program mammography equipment for optimal performance.
• Ensure compliance with appropriate radiation safety protocols.
• Conduct and document QA/QC tests in line with MQSA standards.
• Operate mobile mammography equipment as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Graduate from a two-year AMA approved radiologic technology program Required
• 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist Required
• 1 year of experience in Mammography Preferred
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography required within 2 years from the date of hire.
• Reg Technologist (R) (M) License Required
• Mammo Quality Standards Act Certification Required
• Basic Life Support Certification Required
