Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Med/Surg Tele unit designed to accommodate overflow for emergency department boarder patients. RNs must demonstrate mandatory competencies in phlebotomy and IV placement as these are essential skills for successful candidates. This role will involve providing care in a flex space within the GI Endoscopy department, with patient numbers fluctuating according to demand.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and tele patients.
• Administer medications and perform IV placements and phlebotomy.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient status to RN/MD.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
• Participate in patient admissions and discharge processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a med/surg or telemetry environment.
• Current New York RN license required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Phlebotomy and IV proficiency required.
