Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg - 12 Hour Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position with 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The MedSurg RN will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses. The unit features a combination of semi-private and private rooms for up to 42 patients. RNs are expected to work collaboratively with the healthcare team and respond to the dynamic needs of patients and the unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
• Assist in patient assessments and care planning, ensuring that care is delivered according to department protocols.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document nursing care and patient progress utilizing the EPIC charting system.
• Float to various MedSurg floors as needed, excluding the ED or Behavioral Health.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge is needed.
• Experience in a MedSurg setting is highly preferred.
