Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position with 12-hour night shifts, requiring every other weekend availability.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in med-surg nursing, demonstrating expertise in managing a range of patients, including post-operative cases and those experiencing chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in their condition.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Assist in education and discharge planning for patients and their families.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required for all RNs and LPNs.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are recommended but not required.
• Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
