Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring variable shifts, including day and night shifts from 7a to 7p and 7p to 7a, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are included.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients while ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and plans of care for ICU patients.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required.
• Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire and CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office is preferred.
