Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The competent Nurse, with experience in a clinical setting, practices independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, contributing to long-range goals and effective management of clinical nursing contingencies. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for appropriate assignments and delegation to other care providers to help manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of One CHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to practice level.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification from the AHA required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or a compact state license.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
