Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to plan for long-range goals. The role includes managing contingencies of clinical nursing and making appropriate assignments to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities

• Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using appropriate protocols, administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience, with most recent experience in ED - Level 1, 2, or 3 Trauma required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of NM or compact.

Schedule

Multiple shifts are available, with in-times varying from 3 PM to 7 PM.
