Job Description

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to Emergency Department patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The role requires demonstrating critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care to the emergency department patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Administer medications and monitor side effects proficiently.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, & ENPC certifications required.
• NRP certification preferred.
• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
