Registered Nurse - BMT Chemotherapy Oncology

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs, identifying patient priorities for care, and developing individualized plans through initial and ongoing assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments based on patient problems, needs, and physician diagnoses.
• Implement therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
• Document care adhering to standards and patient acuity.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care aligned with professional nursing practice models.
• Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule

This position requires a shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 x 12 hour shifts with weekends required as needed. There are no holiday or on-call requirements, but floating is required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two (2) years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia & lymphoma, in an inpatient setting.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS - AHA certification required.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license required.
• Telemetry and Chemo Certification with ONS preferred.
