Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 3 shifts per week, including day and/or night shifts as needed. Every other weekend and holiday work is required.

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services to address the personal needs and comfort of patients in a healing environment. This role focuses on ensuring patient dignity and comfort while supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as outlined in the plan of care.
• Assist with hourly rounding and document care rendered per guidelines.
• Meet the nutritional needs of patients by delivering meals, setting up trays, and assisting with feeding.
• Provide patient safety and comfort by answering call lights promptly, repositioning, and providing skin care.
• Assist with rehabilitation needs, including range of motion (ROM) exercises, ambulation, and transfers.
• Recognize and report changes in patients’ physical and emotional status to nursing staff.
• Participate in shift change communication to ensure continuity of care.
• Uphold a healing environment through professional behavior, effective communication, and respect for patient dignity.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school graduate or equivalent education with post-secondary education in Health or Human Services.
• BLS certification through AHA or RQI required.
• 1-2 years of customer service and/or health-related experience preferred.
