Radiographer Weekend Shift

Job Description

The Radiographer conducts and assists personnel in the performance of radiologic examinations, providing patient care activities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. The position requires the proper utilization of the Radiology Information System as outlined in the RIS Policy and Procedure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in age-specific care and interaction.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for radiologic examinations.
• Ensure proper patient identification using two forms of ID.
• Prepare and position patients for examinations, explaining procedures for reassurance.
• Operate radiologic equipment to complete necessary examinations.
• Assist with special examinations and prepare opaque media as needed.
• Monitor patient's condition and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating diagnostic and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Provide patient education pre and post-procedure.
• Maintain a clean and stocked examination environment.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, including activating a Code Blue if necessary.
• Oversee student technologists and assist in their training.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be in the second year of an accredited Radiology program.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience working in a radiology department.
• High School diploma or GED required.

This position involves weekend shifts.
