Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Room by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The RN demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe care to patients. This role includes maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, delegating patient care priorities aligned with staff education and experience, and providing direction and supervision to personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in accordance with the Nursing Process.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in emergency situations.
• Plan and anticipate patient care needs.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care tasks to appropriate personnel.
• Supervise and provide direction for assigned nursing staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an emergency room setting.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is required.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to float as necessary.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
