Physical Therapist - Outpatient

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday (Close early on Friday; extra hours can be made up from Monday to Thursday)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing care for patients assigned to physical therapy. This role requires adherence to all standards of the Physical Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to a designated patient population.

Responsibilities

• Gather pertinent data from charts and other caregivers; discuss with physician as necessary.
• Independently assess all patient types as assigned.
• Recognize additional needs during evaluations and exercise good judgment in decision making when requesting, scheduling, and/or performing additional testing.
• Interpret results and formulate relevant, measurable, realistic, and attainable goals for patients.
• Reassess patient progress regularly per department and regulatory policies, or as the need arises.
• Identify appropriate equipment, discuss with patient and family, and make recommendations based on findings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Doctorate preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) in the state of Texas (or compact).
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
