Registered Nurse - Telemetry Unit

Schedule

This is a rotating schedule consisting of day and night shifts, with shifts set as 3x12-hour blocks (07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30). You can anticipate 3 weeks on each shift type in a 6-week schedule, also dependent on unit needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality care in a telemetry unit where patients primarily present with respiratory and cardiac diagnoses. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Manage telemetry monitoring for patients based on their specific needs.
• Perform assessments and provide patient education as required.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Document care provided in the Cerner charting system.
• Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current PA or Compact RN License in hand.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a telemetry or critical care setting preferred.
• Experience with accessing/managing ports and blood product administration.
• Comfort with managing patients on high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and various drips.
