This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day 3x12-Hour shifts from 06:00 to 18:30. 4x10 hour shifts from 06:00 to 16:30 with alternating days off. On-call requirements include 1-2 call days per week with a 30-minute response time, every 3rd or 4th weekend, and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Open Heart Surgical Tech will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, particularly in the cardiovascular operating room. The candidate must possess strong scrub skills and experience in open-heart surgeries. They will be expected to provide quality care and support to surgical teams during operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the operating room and surgical instruments.
• Scrub in during surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique.
• Support surgical teams with instrument handling and patient positioning.
• Monitor patient vitals and provide assistance as required during procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team and respond to their needs promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) settings.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• EPIC experience preferred.
• National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification is required.
• Ability to care for COVID patients and adhere to facility guidelines regarding cleanliness and safety.
