Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the Clinical Specialist, the Manager, and the Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The CT Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as the technology evolves for themselves and others. In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, Technologists perform CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. They practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performing CT scans and producing high-quality diagnostic images.
• Assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients, including those in trauma and emergency settings.
• Maintaining safety standards in accordance with state health regulations.
• Supporting educational initiatives for staff and patients regarding CT imaging.
• Performing specialized procedures as required.

Schedule

Monday to Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM (no on-call responsibilities).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School.
• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice in New York.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; MIT Level assigned based on skill set and experience.
