Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist in the CVOR plays a critical role in supporting heart surgical procedures. This position requires expertise in handling instruments, supplies, and equipment, while maintaining the sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of surgical procedures, including both first and second scrub roles.
• Ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
• Perform tasks such as sponging, suctioning, and manipulating endoscopic cameras when needed.
• Maintain vigilance for the maintenance of a sterile field at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least two years of experience in a similar facility.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) required; must be obtained upon hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
• Experience with cardiac surgeries including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and robotic-assisted procedures is essential.
