Job Description

The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a vital role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab and operating essential equipment. This role ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements while maintaining stringent aseptic technique and patient safety standards. The Technologist I collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency and serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray usage.

Responsibilities

• Ensures major equipment is operational in assigned area(s) and documents any issues.
• Participates in daily room checks and stocking of supplies.
• Accesses daily patient schedule and information for assigned procedures.
• Collaborates with the procedure team to ensure appropriate patient care.
• Trains and completes competencies to operate cath lab equipment.
• Adheres to aseptic technique and organizational policies related to patient safety.
• Acts as radiation safety representative during X-Ray use.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an equivalent healthcare-related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required to work at pediatric facilities.
• State Licensure required based on modality - Texas: MRT or LMRT by TMB.
