Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit’s standards of care. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization. This role requires treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect while demonstrating quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement patient care according to age-specific needs.
• Ensure adherence to unit standards of care and quality assurance protocols.
• Foster effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Handle emergency situations effectively while maintaining composure.
• Participate in continuing education and stay updated on best practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license required.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification via AHA required.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate for the patient population served.
