Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, which focus on superior quality, treating others well, being results-oriented, and working as a team. Patient and employee safety is a top priority, and the RN is expected to promote a safe environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and documentation for care conferences.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient education accordingly.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring proper delegation of tasks.
• Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit by providing guidance and reassurance.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and plan activities for efficient use of time and staff.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift with a 3x12.0 schedule.
