Neuro Stepdown RN - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

The Neuro Stepdown RN will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients in a medical intermediate unit, focusing on neurological and medical intermediate patient populations. The position requires adherence to strict policies regarding time off, patient interactions, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions, ensuring adherence to protocols for areas such as IV insulin, cardiac and vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmias.
• Provide care and management for various medical procedures, including feeding tubes, hemodialysis, and emergency response.
• Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, maintaining the highest standards in patient care and Novant behavioral expectations.
• Facilitate efficient patient flow and assist with daily operations within the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Neuro Stepdown or similar experience.
• Current RN license (NC or Compact), ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Capable of titrating information including LEVO and managing IV therapy protocols.
