4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Monday – Friday) / No Holiday / 40 Hour Guarantee

Job Description

The position assists the radiologist and other physicians in producing high quality computed tomographic and radiographic images necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of patients while ensuring minimal radiation exposure. The technologist also provides general care to the patient while in the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform computer tomography studies following established protocols, tailoring exams according to patient history and radiologist direction.
• Administer IV and oral contrast as required, adhering to departmental protocols and monitoring patients' conditions throughout procedures.
• Ensure radiation protection for patients, self, and others through proper usage of shielding and collimation.
• Assist the radiologist with sterile procedures, obtain vital signs, and pertinent clinical history; proficiently perform venous puncture and document necessary data accurately.
• Recognize allergic reactions or urgent medical conditions, notifying and assisting the radiologist in response.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of CT experience - Required
• Ability to perform X-Ray - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS - Required
• Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - Required
• Experience with Toshiba CT Scanner - Preferred
• Fingerprinting required during compliance
