OB Registered Nurse

Schedule

This position requires 12-hour shifts, four days per week, with all rotating shift schedules.

Job Description

The OB Registered Nurse will provide direct care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients of varying risk levels, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in labor and delivery. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to patient and family-centered care. In addition to primary unit responsibilities, employees will receive training in various competencies and care modes across the OB service and may be required to float among units according to the needs of patient volume and acuity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Be flexible in floating among units to meet patient needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and orientation for varied competencies and care modes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York.
• Minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery; OR experience in OR and triage is highly desired.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification is required.
