Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position requires providing direct patient care while guiding patient and family teaching, as well as overseeing the activities of other nursing personnel in the ICU environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor patient conditions, addressing any changes with appropriate actions.
• Directly communicate with physicians regarding clinical conditions, hemodynamic monitoring, and abnormal results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Guide and support the activities of junior nursing staff within the ICU.
• Participate in patient and family education to promote optimal health outcomes.

Schedule

This position offers 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Weekend availability is required, with a minimum commitment of 3 shifts per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, specifically in critical care.
• Meditech experience is highly preferred; candidates without it may attend facility-sponsored orientation/training.
