Registered Nurse - ICU (Per Diem)

Schedule

Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM. Must be able to work weekends. Minimum of 3 shifts per week required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role provides direct patient care and guides patient/family teaching while maintaining high standards of care. The RN must communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in patient conditions and respond promptly to any changes in treatment or condition.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to assigned patients in the ICU.
• Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations of patient conditions.
• Plan and implement nursing interventions and evaluate their outcomes.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate changes in clinical conditions to the physician.
• Supervise and guide activities of other nursing personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, specifically in critical care.
• Meditech experience is highly preferred; candidates without it may attend limited facility-sponsored orientation/training.
