Respiratory Therapist - Day/Night Rotate

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a dynamic acute care setting. This position involves working primarily with adult patients, but candidates with pediatric and labor & delivery experience are preferred. The therapist will cover various inpatient areas, including the emergency department, and will be responsible for providing exceptional respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Administer breathing treatments and manage ventilators for adult patients.
• Conduct arterial blood gases (ABGs) and EKGs for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Assist in intubation procedures under the supervision of physicians.
• Provide care for pediatric patients as needed after training.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ER or ICU settings with a focus on adult patients.
• Pediatric and labor & delivery experience is preferred but not mandatory as training can be provided.
• Certifications:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support - AHA)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT via NBRC) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • STABLE Certification

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position that requires 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night). Shift hours are from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715, with every other weekend required. The facility is open to travelers who prefer weekend shifts only.
