Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Stroke unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in stroke care, with NIHSS certification being a plus. Proficiency in the EPIC charting system and travel experience is highly preferred. This unit serves a diverse patient population, with a daily census ranging from 26 to 28 patients, and includes cases such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and surgical overflow, particularly thyroidectomies. The position requires flexibility and the ability to provide high-quality care under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with medical-surgical conditions, particularly stroke patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and health status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care activities in the EPIC system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS certification (AHA).
• Experience in a medical-surgical or stroke unit preferred.
• NIHSS certification is a plus.
